Carnaval in San Francisco

I've uploaded a large selection from yesterday's Carnaval at http://www.pbase.com/jackielink/carnaval__2012

I missed going to the Golden Gate Bridge's birthday celebration, though Judy, Theresa and I were there on Saturday in the cold wind and fog for "It Came from Beneath the Sea," shown on the Presidio's Main Post Green.  And I learned what I've called the fishing pier, is named Torpedo Wharf, from the days when they made and shipped torpedoes from Crissy Field.

A breathing red lotus

This very large fabric sculpture in Civic Center, "Breathing Flower," by Choi Jeong Hwa, moves with the breeze.
I happened to read a few of my 2007 blog entries earlier today and am wondering why all my stories have stopped; I never take the time to write about what I see and do anymore.  Somewhere along the way my pictures became more the point than my thoughts.  Perhaps that's as it should be.

Time to get back to work . . . and that means tackling my accumulated junk, especially in my house and basement . . . can't remember when there was a Spring Cleaning Event at my  house.  Arrrgh!
